This Focus Week has encouraged pupils to think about their futures and the kind of people they want to grow up to be. On Monday the school was visited by inspirational speaker Stuart Myers. Pupils learned about their similarities and differences and the importance of challenging stereotypes. On Tuesday each class learned about a different inspirational person from history and presented their findings to their peers at our ‘WOW’ assembly in the afternoon. Wednesday and Thursday was all about money! Pupils solved money problems and were challenged to think about savings, debt and where money comes from. Finally, on Friday, pupils thought about their future careers. They came to school dressed as what they want to be when they grow up and spent the morning learning about the skills they would need to reach these goals. In the afternoon, pupils had an ‘Action Aid’ assembly and learned about the hopes and dreams of children in different countries. This encouraged our pupils to think about how privileged they are to have an education and a variety of opportunities.
