Winnie-The-Pooh day 4 We tried honey on toast

We loved Winnie-the-Pooh day!

During the day we shared stories, dressed up and learnt with our toys. In the afternoon, Mark Ghent visited Year 1 to tell us all about keeping bees and where honey comes from. We listened and then asked questions starting with the question words. After that, we then tried honey on toast. It was delicious!

Geoff, from the River and Canal Trust visited school. He gave a very informative assembly. First, he taught us how to stay safe with a little saying;

Stay

Away

From the

Edge.

Then, Miss Sharman was asked to rescue headless Dave. She had to throw the ring in front of him so he could link his arm through it. Finally, we spotted hazards off the large poster. We all learnt a lot!

On Wednesday 15th January we had a Taekwondo taster session in school. We learnt how to stand and the importance of concentration and focus. We then worked on our strikes and kicks. We had to listen carefully and follow instructions well. To get better at Taekwondo we would need to practise a lot just like our reading, writing and maths.
