Welcome to Five Lanes Primary School. We have created our website to reflect the happy, caring and fun learning environment our pupils and staff experience every day.

Five Lanes Primary is a popular two form entry school, serving the families of the Wortley community and surrounding local areas. The well-being of our children is at the heart of all our work, and we strive to achieve high standards of development, care, guidance and support, which in turn allows our pupils to achieve the best that they can.

Five Lanes is a caring place to learn and grow, where all our children can achieve their full potential in a happy, safe and inclusive environment. Our modern building, along with extensively developed grounds, is an ideal place to enjoy learning.  

Our curriculum is broad and exciting, and is planned to ensure our pupils ‘know more, do more and remember more’. This ensures pupils of all ages and abilities make good progress throughout their learning journey.  Pupils enjoy their time at school, and this is reflected in our higher than average attendance.

The school's mission statement, Aiming High, is reflected in our pupil's good behaviour.  The caring attitudes they show towards each other and the adults who work with them are evident and have been commented on by many visitors.  Children are encouraged to ‘be the best that they can be’ and their positive attitudes to learning help them make good progress and achieve well.

Five Lanes encourages relationships with the wider community and this support helps us to achieve more for our pupils. Our Friends of Five Lanes parent/carer group works effectively to raise money so that our pupils can enjoy curriculum enhancements, such as additional resources, educational visits and special visitors. This helps to enrich our children’s learning journey and create lasting knowledge and memories.
