The children in Year 5 have enjoyed learning all about the pilgrimage many Muslims undertake to Mecca to pray at the Kaaba. They have looked at work from a range of different sources such as music, poems, art and videos and have drawn their own interpretations of what the pilgrimage looks like at the Kaaba. 

They have also investigated religious texts and studied the holy book; the Qur'an. The children showed respect to this holy book and knew that this should be kept wrapped in material and must only be touched with clean hands.  

They compared their own experiences of places that they hold special to them, to how Muslim's interpret and feel about their own religious journeys.
