Come and meet the Five Lanes Family

 

   

Miss Miah

  Miss Miah is the Acting Headteacher and is responsible for leading Foundation Stage and Key Stage One. She is also a Designated Safeguarding Lead (Child Protection). Miss Miah has been part of our Five Lanes Family for 11 years. She loved our school that much that after leaving in 2010 to teach in Manchester, she returned to her rainbow family in 2012. Miss Miah is a Lead Autism Practitioner, RSE Leader and is responsible for managing NQTs, Trainee Teachers, Students and Volunteers.

Mrs Mercer

  Mrs Mercer is the Acting Headteacher and is responsible for leading Key Stage 2. She is also a Designated Safeguarding Lead (Child Protection).

Miss Fothergill

 

Miss Fothergill is an Early Years Teacher., she has worked in Reception and Nursery.  In Nursery her role is to manage a team of wonderful Nursery staff and is responsible for 78 children.  Miss Fothergill plans engaging activities for Maths, Phonics, Topic and Talk for Writing, but also a range of activities for the indoor and outdoor classrooms. You will often find her in the mud kitchen alongside a group of muddy children.  Miss Fothergill writes observations on Tapestry, of children's learning and amazing work and loves to see the developmental journey of children as they progress in Nursery.

Mrs Herron

  Mrs Herron is a Reception Class Teacher and loves everything about Foundation Stage.  She is also part of the English Team and helps to organise events that excite our children about reading and stories.  Mrs Herron has worked at Five Lanes for seven years now and she will soon be starting her maternity leave, getting ready to welcome her first baby into her family.  At the weekend she enjoys going for walks with her golden retriever, Axel.

Mrs O'Rourke

  Mrs O'Rourke teaches part-time in Reception Cherry Class.

Miss Bugler

  Miss Bugler teaches part-time in Reception, Cherry Class.  You will find Miss Bugler in school on Thursdays and Fridays. Her whole school responsibility is as Phonics Leader. Miss Bugler is a big rugby league fan and has supported Leeds Rhinos since she was little.  She enjoys spending time with her little girl and her boxer dog, Lenny.

Miss Sharman

 

Miss Sharman teaches in Year 1 Horse Chestnut Class.  She has taught in Key Stage One for 4 years and without a doubt loves it!  Miss Sharman leads Design and Technology across school and thoroughly enjoys making things in class with the children.  Her favourite subject is English as she likes writing for different purposes and reading a range of stories.  Miss Sharman enjoys reading in her spare time, especially thrillers.  She adores animals, especially dogs and enjoys going to the gym.

Mrs Jobson   Mrs Jobson teaches in Year 1 Holly Class.  She joined the Five Lanes Family in April 2019 and adores this school.  She has been teaching for 23 years and has loved every minute of it.  She leads English in Key Stage One and feels passionate about ensuring children have fun whilst learning.  Outside of school Mrs Jobson enjoys reading, walking and sipping juniper based drinks.

Miss Lowe

  Miss Lowe teaches in Year 2 Maple Class.  She has taught throughout Key Stage One and has loved every minute of it.  She currently leads Geography across the school and adores teaching children about the fascinating world we live in.  Her favourite subject is Science, as she enjoys investigating and experimenting.  In her spare time Miss Lowe enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and singing to Elvis Presley!

 

 Miss Pearce

   

Miss Pearce works in Year 2 Ash Class and is part of the Key Stage 1 Team. She changes her hair colour regularly, so you might see her around school with pink, purple or even blue hair!  Miss Pearce loves reading, writing, watching TV and playing with her pets Lilly, Willow and Alfie.

Mrs Riley-Smith

Mrs Howie

  Mrs Howie teaches in Year 3 Pine Class and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team.  Mrs Howie has worked at Five Lanes for the past 17 years and still loves being a part of the 'Five Lanes Family'. She has many roles in school;  Maths Curriculum Leader, Educational Visits Co-ordinator and joint French Subject Leader with Mrs Templeman.  In her spare time, she loves spending time in her garden! She also loves to curl up with a great book or watch films (not scary ones though!) Her favourite TV programme is Gardeners' World! Shhh!

 

Mrs Spokes

  Mrs Spokes teaches Year 3, Silver Birch Class.  She has been teaching for 24 years and has enjoyed working across Foundation Stage and both Key Stages.  She co-ordinates History for the school, with Mrs O'Rourke.  When she is not at school, she enjoys spending time with her family, walking and going to the gym.

Mrs Brown

  Mrs Brown teaches part-time in Year 3 Silver Birch Class, is Music Subject Leader, and delivers Music across the school, as well as running 2 Recorder Clubs, Guitar Club and KS2 Choir. She has taught at Five Lanes (and as it was years ago, Upper Wortley Primary School!) for 21 years, and has been teaching for 25 years. When she is not at school, she enjoys practising her recorders, euphonium, guitar and piano. She also loves swimming and taking family walks in the countryside with her chocolate labrador, Brucie. 

Mrs Dixon

  Mrs Dixon teaches part-time in Year 4, Poplar Class and is the PSHE Leader.  She enjoys finding fun ways for pupils to learn and enjoys stretching their brains.  When she isn't teaching, she likes to keep fit and healthy doing yoga as well as raising her gorgeous 5-year old twins.  She loves turtles, the colour green and yoga.  She once was a qualified scuba-diver and has sky-dived and bungee jumped on the same day!

Miss Saville

  Miss Saville teaches in Year 4 Sycamore Class.  This is her first year of teaching and has teaching experience in both Key Stage 1 and 2.  She loves being creative and learning about different topics especially history.  In her spare time she loves eating out at nice restaurants.

Mr Herron

  Mr Herron teaches in Year 5, Oak Class.  He is the school's Computing Curriculum Leader and organises chess in school.  He loves music and helps Mrs Brown to teach the guitar club.  Out of school time, Mr Herron enjoys cooking spicy food and taking his dog for long walks.

Mrs Dore

  Mrs Dore teaches in Year 5, Larch Class and she is also our PE Subject Leader.  Mrs Dore is part of our English Team, leading on English in KS2.  She is also part of our Senior Leadership Team.

Mr Tooms

  Mr Tooms teaches in Year 6 Willow Class.

Mrs Templeman

  Mrs Templeman teaches in Year 6 Beech Class.

Mrs Ross

  Mrs  Ross is our school SENDCo - this means she works alongside class teachers to ensure children with special educational needs of any kind make the best possible progress they can.  The best days to contact her are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  In addition, she is a Designated Safeguarding Lead (Child Protection) and the designated teacher for Children Looked After.
Mrs Marshall   Mrs Marshall is a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who works throughout the school.  In her spare time she enjoys long walks in the countryside with her family and 2 dogs, Nellie and Lola.
Mrs Fletcher   Mrs Fletcher is a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)  who works throughout the school, covering teachers whilst they have their PPA time.  In her spare time Mrs Fletcher loves going walking in the countryside and spending time with her family.
Mrs Bishop   Mrs Bishop is a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who works throughout the school and teaches part-time in Year 4 Poplar Class.

Mrs Townend

  Mrs Townend is a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who works throughout the school.   She also plays the clarinet and sometimes the saxophone in the school orchestra.  Mrs Townend assists Mrs Brown and Mr Tong with the orchestra.  In her spare time, Mrs Townend plays clarinet in a band in Gollingham.
Mrs Robinson   Mrs Robinson is the school's Learning Mentor and Attendance Improvement Officer. She helps to support families and children to overcome any barriers to learning.  In addition, she is a Designated Safeguarding Lead (Child Protection).  Mrs Robinson has worked at Five Lanes for 19 years.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and meeting up with friends.  Mrs Robinson also enjoys going out for meals, attending music events and going to Zumba.
Mrs Mason   Mrs Mason is our Behaviour Support Worker (BSW) in school, and is your first point of call if you have any queries or need support with any behaviour issues at home.  She is also a Designated Safeguarding Lead (Child Protection).
Mrs Eggenton   Mrs Eggenton is the School Business Manager.  She can help sort out any queries you have with any money related issues, including Parentpay.
Mrs Parker   Mrs Parker is the HR and Office Manager.  She is responsible for school admissions, staff personnel and finance.  You can find Mrs Parker working in the school office Monday - Friday.
Miss Gibson   Miss Gibson is the Office Administrator.  She is responsible for Nursery intake, office support and school displays.  You can find Miss Gibson working in the school office Monday - Friday.

Mrs Walton

  Mrs Walton is the Office Administrator.  She is responsible for children's milk and dinner orders and she also supports in the office.  You can find  Mrs Walton working in the school office on a Monday and Thursday.
Mrs Newsome   Mrs Newsome has been a Nursery Officer for 25 years at Five Lanes.  She is a key person for 26 children and she is responsible for Blue Group.  Her daily roles include leading group times for Phonics, Maths and Topic.  Mrs Newsome writes observations of children on Tapestry which include assessments of the children's learning.  She also completes the children's next steps which provides challenge for children in their learning.  Mrs Newsome thoroughly enjoys her time in Nursery and says it is amazing starting your child's learning journey in school.
Mrs Hurley   Mrs Hurley has been a Nursery Officer for 14 years at Five Lanes.  She is a key person for 15 children and she is responsible for Yellow Group.  Her daily roles include leading group times for Phonics, Maths and Topic.  Mrs Hurley writes observations of children on Tapestry which include assessments of their learning.  She also completes the children's next steps which provides challenge for children in their learning.  Mrs Hurley delivers speech and language interventions with children across the Foundation Stage.  She is also Paediatric first aid trained and thoroughly enjoys her time in Nursery.
Mrs Stirland   Mrs Stirland is a Nursery Officer and works part-time.  She has a Key Person role in Nursery.
Miss Mulligan   Miss Mulligan is a Learning Support Assistant in Nursery.  She has worked at Five Lanes for 11 years.  She is a qualified HLTA and has been lucky to have worked in all year groups throughout school.  She is also Funzone Supervisor and Designated Safeguarding Lead (Child Protection).
Miss French   Miss French is a Learning Support Assistant who works in Reception and is also a qualified Nursery Nurse.  She has worked at Five Lanes for 25 years.  In her spare time Miss French enjoys going to Zumba.  
Mrs Powell   Mrs Powell is a Learning Support Assistant currently working in Foundation Stage.  When she is not at school, she is a gym lover and her passion is for her business as a personal trainer and advanced nutritional advisor.
Mrs Warner   Mrs Warner is a Learning Support Assistant who works in Reception.
Miss Watson   Miss Watson is a Learning Support Assistant  (SEND) who works in Reception, Rowan Class.  She joined the Five Lanes Family in 2019, working first in Nursery.  She previously worked at the Royal Armouries Museum.  She enjoys family visits to castles and museums and has recently taken up running.

Mrs Steele

  Mrs Steel is a Learning Support Assistant who works in Year 1 Holly Class.  She loves her job at Five Lanes and without a doubt it makes her smile everyday.  When Mrs Steel is not at school, she likes to spend time with Mr Steel and her three children.  She also likes walking her dogs and watching live bands.
Miss Mason   Miss Mason is a Learning Support Assistant who works in Year 1.
Miss Adam   Miss Adam is is a Learning Support Assistant who works in Year 2. She has been part of our Five Lanes Family for 10 years and has worked throughout school. Miss Adam is experienced at delivering interventions and supporting learning in Maths, English and other curriculum areas. She also works in Funzone, providing before, after school and holiday care for our children.
Mrs Park   Mrs Park is is a Learning Support Assistant in Year 2.  She has worked at Five Lanes for nearly 5 years and has also worked in Year 3.  Mrs Park enjoys reading books like Sherlock Holmes or Harry Potter and baking cakes for her friends.
Mrs Bushell   Mrs Bushell is a Learning Support Assistant who works in Year 3, Pine Class with Mrs Howie.  She also supports our children at two after-school multi-sports clubs and sometimes in Funzone.  Her hobbies are going to the gym, swimming and spending time with her family.
Mrs Gibb   Mrs Gibb is a Learning Support Assistant who works in Year 3.

Mrs Falkinder

  Mrs Falkinder is a Learning Support Assistant who works in Year 4, Sycamore Class.  In addition, she manages our ICT provision, the library and School Council.  Mrs Falkinder has worked at Five Lanes for 25 years.  When she is not at Five Lanes, she loves gardening and been at her allotment, where she spends most of the summer there!
Miss Parker   Miss Parker is a Learning Support Assistant who works in Year 4.  Part of her role is to listen to children read to encourage their development.  She also assists with the core subjects in class such as English and Maths.  Miss Parker is very passionate about reading in her spare time.
Mrs Cockin   Mrs Cockin is a Learning Support Assistant who works in Year 5. 
Mrs Tennant   Mrs Tennant is a Learning Support Assistant who works in Year 5.  She is also our Family Support Worker and can help with any family related issues you may be having.
Mrs Luty   Mrs Luty is a Learning Support Assistant who works in Year 6.
Miss Keown   Miss Keown is a Learning Support Assistant who works in Year 6, Beech Class.  She has worked at Five Lanes for 11 years.  Throughout her time at Five Lanes Miss Keown has enjoyed supporting in most years group.  She also works in our out of school club, Funzone.
